San Antonio

This past weekend Josh had to be in San Antonio for a work conference so the girls and I tagged along.  He ended up having a very flexible schedule and we were able to spend a lot of time together!

Sleeping on the way

6 hours in the car is no fun, so we made a few stops along the way.  The girls slept great the first part, so we made it to Waco and then stopped at Collin Street Bakery for a snack.

Then we stopped south of Austin for dinner and picked up a few things from Target to stretch our legs a bit.
And naturally, we tried on sunglasses...

We checked in to the hotel at 9:15 and put the girls down.  Sleeping in one room is always a challenge; we typically have to turn all the lights out and hide in the bathroom until they are both out.  The first night they went on to sleep pretty quickly.

Saturday morning we walked the river walk to the mall and ate breakfast then we headed to the convention center to help Josh set up his booth.  Well, we weren't much help, but we watched!

After Josh set up the booth, we walked some more of the river walk then headed over to the Alamo...

Josh didn't have to actually work the booth until 4:45, so we took the girls back to the room for naps.  When he left at 4:30, the girls and I walked over to the mall for some shopping and dinner.  We came back to the hotel around 6:30 before it started getting dark.  Ratatouille was on so the girls watched that and played in the room.

Eden brought me Roo and a diaper, so I put the diaper on him and she thought this was the greatest thing...

Josh finished at the convention center around 7 and walked back.

We were on the 19th floor and right on the river walk, so I immediately decided the girls would go nowhere near the balcony!  I even had a nightmare about it the first night.  But, Josh talked me into it and we carried them out there briefly...

Concert going on outside our room...

After sunset, Macy and Daddy sitting together looking at the lights...

Macy had a little harder time winding down this night and going to sleep, but Eden fell asleep fast.  Macy was sleeping on her cot and owl mat beside our bed and Eden was in the pack-n-play in the corner.

Sunday morning, we walked to an Einstein Brothers for breakfast and ate on the river walk.

On this day, Josh had to be at the booth around 11:45.  So we had some time to do one of the river walk boat tours...

Eden does this face a lot... :)

They told us on the tour about a kids area at Hemisphere Park so we decided to check it out.  It was a huge wooden playground with mazes, steps, and slides.  The girls loved this!  We stayed here until Josh had to be at the convention center.

After we left Daddy, we headed back to the mall and ate at a Chili's.  Josh ended up calling to let me know we could leave around 1:30 (we were anticipating being in San Antonio until 5 and getting home around 1, so this was a huge blessing!)

The girls coloring...

We stopped a few times on the way back (including a side-of-the-road potty break for Mace when we were in the middle of nowhere between Austin and Temple!)  We made it home around 9:00 and enjoyed sleeping in our own beds!  So thankful we are able to tag along with Josh on these kind of trips.  We don't like being apart from Daddy!

It's never too early...

To enjoy your new home!

We had a slab but no walls for about a week because the framers were tied up on another job.  So, one night we brought Macy's bike and spent some time out there looking around while the girls played.

Eden just toddled around picking up leaves and anything else she could find...

This past Monday, the framers worked all day and finished the walls so we picked up a Papa John's pizza on our way out there, ate and walked around.

Macy in her room...

And E in hers...

Macy loves putting her boots on and checking things out each night:)
