Family, Football, Fifth Generation and Feeling Wet!

This past weekend, my brother, sister-in-law and two nephews were in town.  We had a fun-filled family weekend together!

Getting ready to go to the Lee football game Friday night, all dressed in our red and black!

Daddy and Eden at the game

Friday morning, we all went to Palestine to see Mimi and Pappa and my great-grandmother, Mammaw.  Eden and Macy are fifth generations!

Saturday we hung out at the house.  After we put the kids down for naps, Josh and I (plus Eden!) and Aaron and Kristyn headed to Arlington for the Rangers game.  My parents kept the three oldest kids and even braved Chuck E. Cheese after naps!  This was mine and Eden's first play-off game and the atmosphere was much different!  Very intense!

Napping just a bit before the first pitch

We were having a great time until the rain hit (which we weren't expecting!)  The temp kept dropping and before we knew it, it was 65 degrees and raining hard!  I took off with Eden to the tunnel and managed to keep her dry.  Kristyn came out and we passed Eden back and forth for about 45 minutes. They delayed the game for about thirty minutes and it seemed like the rain had stopped.  We all went back to our seats and about 15 minutes later, it hit again, without warning!  We all took off for covering and decided at this point to head back home.  It was 9:30 and they were delaying the game again.  We listened to it on the way home.  Bummer that we missed most of the game!  Sweet Eden was such a trooper.  I had thrown a blanket in the bag even though I thought it was going to be low 80's.  We kept her wrapped up and she slept through most of it.  Very eventful!

Sunday afternoon, Aaron and Kristyn headed back home.  We always enjoy our time together and Macy loves playing with Cason and Bryce.  They will be back for her 2nd birthday which will be here before I know it!

"Eat Fresh!" and Making Cookies

A few nights ago, we decided to walk to Subway for dinner.  We have one about a mile from our house and we can get to it by going through neighborhoods.  It's been so nice in the evening, we've been getting out for walks almost every night.  This was the first time we've walked to Subway, but I think it might become a more regular occurrence.  It was great taking care of exercise and dinner at the same time!

On the ride back, little bit drifted off to sleep...

And Macy girl pulled out her rubberband and sported her crazy hair!

On a less healthy note, Macy and I decided to make cookies today when she got up from her nap.  We received a cookie in a jar as a party favor last week and we've been dying to try them.  Macy loved being a helper and couldn't wait to taste the finished product!  They were delicious!!

Traveling with Daddy

Yesterday, the girls and I had the chance to ride with Josh to Dallas.  We try to do this every now and then, depending on when he has to leave (I'm not going to get the girls up and out of the house at 6:00, which is when he usually leaves!) and if he's riding by himself.  We left the house at 8:00 and were back home around 4:30.  The girls and I shopped at The Parks mall in Arlington.  They did pretty good, with the exception of a "screaming, kicking, going limp fit" that happened in the kids section at Barnes and Noble (yes, a bookstore.  The most quiet store in the mall!)  Aww, the joys of approaching two...

Watching a movie on the way up

After the fit at the mall, Macy didn't each much of her lunch.  So when Josh picked us up (he still hadn't eaten) he got her a tortilla when he got his lunch at Chipotle.  She was so tired that she fell asleep with part of the tortilla in her hand!

Then when she woke up, she found it and finished it.  Yummy, I know!

Blogging Away!

The girls' naptime today consisted of lots of blogging for Mommy!  I had gotten behind and we have had a busy few weeks (the fair, Rangers game, Canton, birthday party, etc.!)

I think I am officially caught up (for now!)...

Dad-urday

It's been a while, but I remember reading on my friend, Courtney's, blog about how around their house Saturday was called Dad-urday: a whole day with Daddy!

We LOVE Dad-urday around the Gentry house.  From an early age, Josh would take Macy to eat breakfast on Saturday mornings and let me rest.  Since Eden's been here and Macy sleeps a little later, we've all started going because I'm up and going anyway!  Even if we just run errands, we enjoy spending the day together.  Dad-urdays are even more precious when Josh has had a busy week traveling and getting home late.

This last week, he had to be in Austin Thursday morning through Friday.  He also had Game 1 Rangers tickets for Friday at 4:00, so he ended up going straight to Arlington from Austin.  By 10:00 that night, we were ready to see him!!

I let Macy stay up so she could see him.  We watched the movie Curious George 2 together in our bed.

Saturday, we did our usual breakfast at Einstein Brothers (Macy can put away a bagel and cream cheese like you wouldn't believe!!) and then we decided to go walk at the park.
Macy played on the playground for a minute then we strolled around for a while.  It was a pretty day and we enjoyed being out!

Just had to snap these pictures on our way to the car!
Precious!!

Before bed

Macy and Eden have the best Daddy in the world and we cherish our time together as a family!
Come on Dad-urday!!

And, just a few more 3 month pics of Eden Joy (and the blog will officially be caught up!)...
