Only a little over a month before Macy girl turns 3! I have really enjoyed this past month with my princess. She has really "grown-up" so to speak and while it continues to break my heart at the pace of her growing up, I'm enjoying watching it:)
We obviously still have our struggles now and then with discipline, but I have been so proud of her lately. She is listening really well and being so trustworthy with the responsibilities we do give her. She is also a huge helper girl with sister! I love how she will run get me something that I need, or just randomly lay out a diaper on Eden's changing pad for whenever I need it. She's also great about putting things back where they go and I always smile when I come across something that I can tell she took care of:) Her new thing, which has been a huge help to Mommy, is opening doors so I can push the stroller through.
This girl does not miss a thing and she always has a plan! She's very mothering, with Eden, her "babies" and even her friends. At the fair last week, she got a wipe and cleaned Gavin's hands and mouth for him:) I will overhear her giving her friends instructions just like a mommy would, "Now sit here and I will bring your snack in just a minute..."
She has a super-hearing ability when it comes to candy wrappers. I can be opening something across the house and will immediately hear her little feet running down the hallway saying "I want some Mommy! Save me the last bite!!" I usually do save her the last bite whenever Mommy's eating a little treat:)
We have a devotion book that we are reading through and memorizing a verse for every letter of the alphabet. It's called "Hide the Word and Seek the Lord" and Macy loves it! She has done A-R of the Old Testament. What's neat is, she's not only memorizing the verses, she's learning Bible stories as well since each verse is used with a story. She's read about David, Jeremiah, Noah, Adam and Eve, Solomon, Paul, Esther... We really do recommend this book! When we first read the story of creation she got so excited, looked over at Eden and said "We're reading about YOUR garden Eden!?!" She was amazed by this.
She calls leggings "legos" and sweet tea "sweet pea"...
Lately she's been walking around the house saying "Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls!" Not sure where this came from... :)
Just when we thought she could not be more outgoing, her social skills have also increased as of late. The last several times we have been out in public, she has approached people randomly and started telling them all about her sister Eden and how she helps Mommy and how Eden doesn't talk yet but she does walk.....etc.! Some people really humor her and have big conversations, but I typically have to smile and walk her away because she would go on forever! This has happened pretty much every time we've been out of the house lately: grocery store, mall, park, etc.
She is VERY into her ABC's lately and we've finally mastered spelling her name. For the longest time she was convinced there was a Q in there somewhere! And for the first time, another show has surpassed Mickey Mouse and become her favorite. She now requests Word World all the time and I think that's part of the reason her letter identification has taken off. It really is a cute show and very creative.
She continues to love books, her favorite right now is any of the Berenstain Bears, and will pretend to read by looking at the pictures.
Her new trick which she thinks is hilarious is pretending to fall asleep instantly. At night when we say it's time to head to bed, she will immediately fall over with her eyes closed wherever she's at. We will say "Oh my goodness! She's already asleep!" and Macy just cackles. She will also do it in the car when we open her door to get her out:)
We still have the same nap schedule and she still gets up around 7:30-8 every morning. Sometimes at night she will try to keep me in her room by asking questions and telling stories. One night last week, she said "Mommy...guess what?" Then she leaned real close and whispered "Tomorrow's my birthday!" Crazy girl...
Oh my Macy, you truly are one of a kind and your Daddy and I would not change a thing. You are just too precious!
Being the sun...
Gum-chewer
While coloring in her room, she got so excited and ran to me with her paper: "I drew an M!"
Not feeling good this day...
Love you Pookie!
