Macy-girl has had a busy summer playing with friends, vacationing with cousins and playing outside with sister. We've also enjoyed having Grammy off on her summer break and tried to take advantage of some time with her:)
Macy is about 30 pounds and 39 inches tall. Her tiny little feet can still fit in some of the 5-6 shoes we've already passed down to Eden, but I've been buying her 7's. She can still easily fit into her 3T clothes and will sometimes pull a 2T out of Eden's closet to wear. I anticipate them being about the same size which will really come in handy with clothes and shoes:)
She still naps 2-3 hours every afternoon with the occasional "refusal to nap" day that happens every once in a while. On those days, she's perfectly content to just play in her bed, but I can tell as soon as I lay her down that she's going to fight it and keep herself awake. But the truth is, she still needs that nap. Her temperament on the days she doesn't tends to get her in trouble and we are all more than ready for an early bedtime!
She's really enjoying sister being able to play and interact with her more. She typically comes up with the plan and insists that Eden follow along. Dressing up is still her favorite thing to do and she can undress Eden and put dress-up clothes on her now (if E lets her!) It's amazing how the princess things do not have to be taught to a little girl! She is so into anything pink, princess and girly and has really been role-playing lately. We will catch her talking to herself and it's obvious she's pretending to be a princess. She loves getting ready for the "Royal Ball" and loves to dance with Prince Daddy.
Also in true big sister form, she instructs Eden on what she's old enough to participate in. "No Eden, you have to be 3.5 to do this." "Eden, you have to have a big head to do this and you have a little head." "Eden, you have to know how to use the potty to do this." "Eden, you can't have a paci to do this." I understand her wanting to embrace the privileges of being the big sister, but we are trying to teach her to be humble about the things she's able to do. And for the most part, she's perfectly content for Eden to be right alongside her.
We still die laughing over the things that come out of her mouth. "Eden, I'll be Cinderella and you be Gus Gus." The other day we were asking Eden what she wanted to be when she grew up. "Are you going to be a singer or a dancer?" And Macy piped in, "Are you going to be an elephant?" Lately, when she gets frustrated with me she will say "Mommy Gentry!" She loves making up songs now and one lyric she sang the other day was, "It hurts my hands when I clap real hard!" For the longest time now, she has said the word "plaid" when she really means "plain."
Daddy is thrilled because she keeps asking to go to a Rangers game and we are hoping to take them to one in September.
Can't believe this sweet girl will be 4 in a few short months! Love watching how independent and grown-up she is becoming. And what a helper she is right now! She's super excited about Sadie being here and I really feel like she will be a huge help to Mommy.
Macy's expressions constantly have us laughing. She is so animated and tries so hard to be "Princess-like"
Working on her letters...
She's been writing Macy for a while and we've started working on Caroline. It's a little harder...
Love you, MC!
