We have lovingly started referring to Eden as Version 2.0 since we feel like we are reliving our first weeks with Macy! These girls are so similar! Not just physically, but we've seen how they have the same eating habits and follow the same schedule. How similar their mannerisms are and how 100 times a day I can see Macy, a few weeks old, in Eden's expressions. *NOTE: Josh likes to say Eden is Version 2.0 with a software upgrade since she doesn't spit up as much as sister:-)
I promise Eden will not spend her life being compared to Macy, so please don't worry! We can't wait to see her develop her own little personality and quirks. It's just been so entertaining to see how identical they've been. I keep telling people we must not have a lot of creativity in our genes!
Eden started sleeping through the night last Wednesday, 7 weeks and 2 days. I knew Macy slept through the night around 7 weeks, so I decided to pull out her calendar and look. You guessed it: 7 weeks and 2 days! Neither one of my girls have been big demand eaters, I typically have to initiate feedings during the day, about every 3 hours. Now if we're out and about and it gets well past three hours, she will definitely let me know!
Eden likes being swaddled now (not so much the first few weeks) just like Macy did. When we swaddle her at night, she knows it night-night time and she's down for the count. During the day, she likes to sleep on her side in her bouncy seat with her head way back, like sister. I used to think Macy looked so uncomfortable and now Eden sleeps the same way.
Macy's favorite place used to be her changing table and she would smile and giggle at us as long as we had her up there. Eden seems to love it too and we get her best smiles there. By the way, they both smiled around 5 weeks :-)
I do think Eden may be a little longer than Macy was and if possible, her eyes may be bigger. Can't wait to watch these sweet girls interact! Macy has been so good with her. One of her favorite things to do is put Eden's paci in when she's fussy. And she is so patient with her! If it takes a while for Eden to get it, she just holds it there saying "Shh, Shh, Shh" just like Mommy does. She also informs us every time Eden makes a peep: "-Ian needs her paci!". She loves to share her toys with her and will pile them on her when she's in her bouncy seat. She's very careful not to put anything by her head. I've been so proud of Macy and how she's handled this change in her world. It really has not even affected her. She continues to play like she used to and when I'm feeding Eden, she doesn't pay us much attention. She genuinely loves having her here. Such a blessing!
