Macy Update

Macy is almost 26 months now and she continues to blow me away with what all she is learning and retaining.  I feel like I need to update the blog on her every month like I did when she was a baby!  She's changing about as fast as she did that first year.

Some of my favorite Macy-isms right now:
  • when her pants are sagging, she will say "Pull my britches up, Mommy"
  • when she has the hiccups she says "I'm doing the hiccups"
  • her big songs this Christmas were Jingle Bells and Happy Birthday Jesus
  • likes to repeat words three times: I'm -ungy, -ungy, -ungy! (Hungry)
  • starting to sing her abc's
  • can recognize her name and Eden's name
  • the song we sang to her as a baby (that we made up) "Who's the cutest baby?" she now sings to Eden.  She also does pat-a-cake with her.
  • she can pretty much read Go Dog Go.  She looks at the picture and has had it read to her so many times that (with a little assistance) she can almost read the whole thing.  The first time I started leaving words out she blew me away!  I had no idea she was capable of that already!
  • Josh or I will say "First time i say it, you..." and Macy says "Obey it!"  We are constantly working on first time obedience;-)
  • cries for Eden when she gets hurt or in trouble
  • she's very orderly and likes to put same objects beside each other.  She will come and put her sippy cup next to my cup and arranges her toys the same way.
  • she will turn her noisebox on and put Piglet or Nemo down for naps.  Shuts the door and comes in the living room for about 5 minutes, then goes and wakes them up:-)
  • we went with Josh to Dallas one day and after walking the mall for a while, we headed to a Lifeway next door.  I wanted to let the girls play and stretch a bit before we left for home.  Lifeway had a little kid area with a basket of VeggieTales and other stuffed animals.  Macy got two out for Eden and informed me, "Eden has two toys, Mommy".  Then (while waving her hand behind her) she said "I have PLENTY!"  Another example of how those words just show up out of nowhere!
  • Josh played golf one Sunday and brought Subway home for the two of us to eat.  Macy had already eaten but she climbed up in her chair and sat at the table with us.  Josh said, "Macy, Daddy's going to pray ok?" And before he could start, Macy goes "Thank you Jesus for Mommy's food and Daddy's food.  AMEN!"  So sweet.  Josh and I just looked at each other and smiled :-)
  • she is wearing 18-24 month clothes and still in 5 shoes, although they are getting a little small
The twos are definitely upon us but overall, Macy-girl, you're a  sweet and loving little girl.  We love your strong spirit and are continually amazed at your energy level!

She said, "Mommy, I'm gonna stand in the box and sing!"  And she did...

Enjoying their new table
