We've had to stay in some hotels over the last few months and have started letting the girls sleep in the same bed when we do. It's usually a battle getting them to calm down and go to sleep, though they eventually do and sleep all night without waking each other up. We decided that we should designate Friday nights at our house as Sleepover night and let them keep practicing how to do this. So they can get used to it for when we do have to travel.
Well, the first Friday night we tried it (April 11) it didn't work, but not for the reasons we would've thought. They were excited, but when we closed the door, Eden just started screaming. We tried to let her figure it out; Macy was even singing to her and trying to calm her down. Our sweet child who does not like change could not get used to being in Macy's room and bed and asked to go back to hers! Not sure if she was scared or what, but it just wasn't going to happen.
We tried again the following week. This Friday night, we decided to let them sleep in Eden's room, thinking that might help. They were quiet at first, but Eden eventually started asking to be in her bed and for Macy to go back to her room! Macy was content going back to her comfy bed.
