At 5, Eden is 38 pounds and 3 feet 8.5 inches. She is definitely long and lean and has really loved gymnastics this summer. She's also still very dainty and graceful and was a cute little gymnast ;)
My favorite thing about Eden is her sensitive and compassionate heart. She is so loving, giving and generous. Macy can still struggle at times being territorial and holding on to her material things too tightly. Eden just doesn't do that. She will willingly give you the shirt she is wearing if she thinks you need it! And she is so generous with Macy and Kate. Seeing such a natural lean towards loving others makes this momma's heart happy.
While still very shy and quiet around others, she is easily the loudest around our house! It still surprises me to hear the sheer volume this "shy" child can get to! She is so artsy and free-spirited. Always dancing around, singing in front of a mirror, changing clothes or having conversations with make-believe friends. Super animated in all of these things! Even when she's just talking to one of us, it cracks me up to see her hand gestures and mannerisms.
Academically, I think we are ready for Kindergarten. She's finally mastered letters and even some letter sounds and has really improved in writing her name. We've really worked on that this summer. She still enjoys coloring and has improved greatly in this area as well. My heart still worries about her starting school just because I know how shy and clingy she is and how hard change can be on her. But I am also excited to see her learn and experience new things. And I'm thankful she will have big sister there to look after her (if Macy's willing to take a break from socializing!) The Lord prepares your heart for these new seasons and I know school with Eden will be no different. She is His and I continue to pray for wisdom in raising her sweet and sensitive personality.
Eden dotes over Kate and is such a sweet big sister. She helps her get dressed and brings her toys. They play together well. Both big girls have really been so sweet and patient with Kate as she has entered this phase of being their little shadows and wanting to do everything they do. They always include her, even when she destroys whatever it is they are working on.
Still very affectionate, one of her favorite things to do is dance with Daddy. And he is always happy to oblige.
Can't imagine the dynamic of our family without our EJ. I always tell her what a sweet position she has having a big sister and a little sister. So thankful for this blessing and can't wait to see how the Lord uses her gentle and quiet spirit which is precious in His sight.

Love you bunches, Eden Joy!
