The Gentry's: 18 months

Eden turned 18 months on the 20th, a whole year and a half!?! We had her well check and Macy's 3 year well check scheduled that day and I completely forgot! Just realized it this morning and rescheduled it. So, we will have weight and height updates later...

Eden Joy continues to be our affectionate, clingy one. I LOVE how she gives kisses and hugs all throughout the day. She puckers up anytime she's getting ready to leave to give whoever is closest a kiss (MMMMMMMMM-AH) Then she proceeds to kiss everyone in the room! She also thinks if we kiss Macy, that she is due one as well and will immediately start going MMMMM...

Her vocabulary is really taking off and she is repeating everything we say. She loves saying her family members names and hearing you repeat them after her. She has really nailed down Papa, Nana, Grammy, Pops, Mandy (Mi-Mi), Mallory (she says this one surprisingly well), Jack (I think this is one of her favorites because she says it so emphatically!), Mimi, Pappa, Bryce, and of course Mommy, Daddy and Sister. The other names she can repeat and they're close. She also says cup (but for some reason it comes out Bop), uh-oh, bye, hi, I stuck, I eat, mine, baby, diaper, sock, shoe, eye, mouth, bow, snack. Snack is one of my favorites because she wakes up from her nap and heads straight to the pantry saying "I -nack...I -nack...I -nack..."

She's still on the smaller side and is wearing 12-18 months and size 3 shoes. She's in 4 diapers though and has started telling us when she's pottied! Way too early to potty-train, but encouraging none the less:)

She's a huge Daddy's girl and asks for him all day. She has gotten so spoiled (Mommy too!) having him home for Christmas! He left for 20 minutes this morning to pick up bagels and she stood by the door saying "Daddy!"

She still takes a good 3 hour nap in the afternoons and is ready to go down around 8. Lately, she's been sleeping until close to 9! Must be a growth spurt;)

She's still a pretty good eater but can be weird about certain things. Like sometimes she will eat turkey and sometimes she won't. Also, it depends on where we are if she will eat a grilled cheese or Mac-n-Cheese. Some places she will and some she pushes it away. Her favorites are pizza, spaghetti, yogurt, peanut butter crackers, beans/rice, and soup. She loves soup! Her favorite is broccoli cheese.

She loves playing with sister and although they have the occasional disagreement (meaning screaming) they do pretty well. She is a copy cat and loves doing exactly what sister does!

She is also all girl and loves to carry around her purse (Macy gave her a new one for Christmas) and wear bracelets.

She has started trying to saying "Shhhhh" and hold her finger up to her mouth to signal quiet. But her "SH" sound comes out more like spitting! If Lexi starts barking, she will walk over to her and say "SKSKSKSKSKS!"

She's still sleeping with her paci and Roo and it doesn't look like we will be weaning from that anytime soon! Oh well...

Eden Joy, you are such a sweet mix of sweetness and spunk! You will sometimes make the funniest faces to try to get us to laugh but then you get so tickled yourself you can't do it anymore! When you are feeling well and not cutting a tooth, you are so bubbly and happy! I love watching you try to "run" and keep up with sister. You also do this thing right now where you put your hands on your knees and say "Ready..." then "Go!" and you take off running. It cracks you up as well. You absolutely love balls. And unfortunately one of your favorite things to do is pull clean clothes and pajamas from your dresser and walk around with them. You fooled us at the beginning because, although you're still pretty shy, you are NOT the quiet child we thought we were getting! But that's ok with us, you have a strong personality like sister and we're praying the Lord uses you both in "big personality" kind-a ways:)
