33!!

Yesterday was Josh's 33rd birthday!

We celebrated with Josh's family at Bodacious on Sunday night.
Sweet Mallory put so much thought and energy into her gift for Josh!  She made him a card, gave him some money from her own piggy bank, and drew him some pictures (Mallory has definitely taken after her Uncle Josh in the artistic department!)

Yesterday, Josh had to be in Dallas so he left the house around 6:30.  While he was gone, the girls and I worked to make sure his day was special!

Macy fingerpainted this sign for Daddy...

Josh and I went out last weekend for his birthday, so last night my parents watched the girls while we went to the gym.  While we were gone, my mom cooked a birthday dinner for Josh.  Double duty: watching our kids and cooking us dinner!  Such a treat.

Happy Birthday to the greatest husband/Daddy in the world!  I tell him all the time, there's not another one like him; he's our one of a kind:-)

8 Months

Monday, Eden turned 8 months old!

At 8 months, you are:

  • around 15.5 pounds
  • in size 3 diapers
  • still in size 1 shoes
  • in size 6 months or 6-9 months
  • starting to clap
  • waving (not consistently but you will do it:-)
  • starting to get clingy to Mommy
  • is still very sensitive!  Will cry at loud noises or when other babies (or sister!) are crying
  • loves to play with Mommy's necklace
  • talks yourself to sleep and will kick your left leg like Macy did
  • seems to be a great eater so far!  Started 2nd foods and has eaten pretty much everything on the shelf without flinching.  The only one you still do not like is peas.  Otherwise we've tried green beans, mixed veggies, garden veggies, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes and corn, avocados, bananas, prunes, pears, peaches, apple and blueberry, apple and cherries, apple strawberry banana...
  • eating 4 times a day
  • still sleeping with your paci and you love your Roo.  When you see him you'll pull him to your face, cuddle him and immediately start getting heavy eyes;-)  So sweet!
  • feeding yourself Puffs and Yogurt Melts.
Schedule right now:

7:30ish: bottle and either mashed bananas, oatmeal, yogurt or rice cereal
9:30-10:30ish: nap
Noon: bottle, veggie and 1/2 fruit
1:15-4:15ish: nap
4:30: bottle, veggie and fruit
8:00: bottle
8:15-7:30: sleep

Just a quick update on Macy-girl:

  • around 26 pounds
  • still in size 5 shoe although I've started buying 6's
  • outgrowing your 18-24 month clothes and needing 24 months or 2T
  • continuing to do great at using the potty!  Sleeping at night in a pull-up but we've decided when we finish this pack we will start sleeping in panties.  She is waking up dry.
  • extremely mothering right now with Piglet!  Everything I do with Eden, she has to do with Piglet.  She hoards some of Eden's things (pacis, blankets, diapers, baby toys...) and when I find them in her room, she says they are Piglets.
  • continues to amaze us with how she can "read" books.  Our new favorite is Very Hungry Caterpillar!  So cute!
  • the only show she really watches on TV consistently is Mickey Mouse.  Her favorite movies right now are Berenstain Bears and Veggie Tales.
  • when she gets hurt, she makes Mommy and Eden kiss her boo-boo.
  • her new phrases right now are: that's fine and I guess.  I'll tell her what we are having for dinner and she will say "Yeah, that's fine, Mommy".  And at night if we tell her she can pick one book to read she will say "I'll just pick 3, I guess".  Basically she uses "I guess" when she's attempting to negotiate or pretend she didn't hear our instructions!
  • she's been very sweet lately.  Not saying that "sweet" is not normal, but we did have a few rough weeks discipline-wise.  She's been listening very well lately.
  • very loving with Eden.  We had to really work on not knocking sister over when she's sitting and playing.  Lately, she will just walk over to her and kiss her or bring her a toy and say "Here you go sweetheart (it comes out seat-art).
