Jumping

My sister-in-law, Mandy, gave Macy this jumper and she loves it! At first she wasn't sure what to do but she figured it out:) She has graduated out of her "babyish" toys like her playmat (which she used to love) because she is much more active now. I'm still not ready to be chasing her, but I know the day is quickly approaching!

On a side note, I just went in and checked on Macy napping and this is what I found....

"Spring" Softball

Why are we dressed like this for SPRING softball!?!
We had to dig this jogging suit out of our winter clothes that were already boxed up:)

Macy enjoyed watching Daddy play, but she especially enjoyed "playing" with cousin Mallory. She loves her! Mallory just has to look at Macy and she starts laughing. It's precious. They will be a pair!

Macy Giggles and Lexi's Birthday

Macy loves to be tickled and Daddy knows just the spots that really get her going!

Today is Lexi's 3rd birthday! And to think, we've almost got her potty-trained:) She really is a good girl and we can't imagine life without her. She has been a little jealous lately, but does really well with Macy. And Macy loves her! She laughs when Lexi comes up to her and she tries to reach out and pet her. They will be good friends.

5 Months

My precious angel turned 5 months old today! For some reason, 5 sounds so much older than 4! Everyday we see more and more of her little personality shining through. And she is full of personality!

The shoes she has on in this picture were mine when I was a baby

Josh was in Dallas this morning, but he made it back in time to grab a late lunch before he headed back to the office. We thought this would be a good opportunity to try out a highchair.

She loved it!

Smiling at a little boy sitting next to us. Oh boy, we are in trouble!

Macy, at 5 months you are:

  • eating 5 times a day
  • taking your last feeding at 8:30
  • sleeping from 9:00 - 7:00
  • eating cereal every night
  • finding your thumb
  • sitting in a highchair :)
  • interacting more with Lexi, reaching for her and laughing at her
  • taking a 2.5 - 3 hour morning and afternoon nap
  • in size 1 diapers
  • laid down in your bed to go to sleep
  • reaching and grabbing for toys and Mommy's phone. You love cups!
  • wearing size 3 months or 3-6 months
  • weigh about 12 pounds and are 24 inches
  • smiling and laughing a lot, especially at strangers when we're out and about

The shirt Macy has on today says "Hand Picked". Thank you, Jesus, for placing Macy in our home and choosing us to be her parents. What an amazing responsibility and joy. You exceeded all of our expectations with this beautiful gift.

We love you, Macy girl!

Easter Egg Hunt

The Saturday night before Easter, Nana and Papa hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for all the grandkids. They had a blast! Each holiday and special occasion is exciting these days having our little girl with us:)

Macy and Papa

Next year I'll be walking on my own!

Most of the eggs went straight to our mouth

The famous 6
Unfortunately, this picture was taken right before Grant fell off the bench and Macy broke his fall. Pictures can sometimes be traumatic for us (she also got bit by a rabbit at Motophoto when we tried to get some Easter pictures taken)

We were still upset here:)

What a fun night! We did get some pictures taken on Easter of the three of us and I will post those soon. Macy girl was not quite as upset in those:)

Crazy Sleeper and Daddy's Cheerleader

Macy moves around in her bed ALL night. She can start at one end and wake up at the other. Well, a few weeks ago she impressed us both by wiggling out of her PJ's.

She's done this before, but I didn't get a picture the first time. That morning, she was actually out of her clothes from the waist up!

Monday nights are church softball nights. Last week, Macy finally made it to one of Daddy's games (sometimes they are past her bedtime). I think she really enjoyed herself. She was definitely proud of her Daddy:)

Safety Belts

Do you remember when your baby is just a few weeks old and you can lay them in a bouncy seat or swing without buckling them in because they don't go anywhere??? I realized a few weeks ago that we are way past that point...

Notice the shoes, the sock half off and of course, the headband

Before you panic and think that I'm an awful parent, I was in the room watching her. She was not in any danger! We have been buckling her in, I promise! This was an exception and I was right there with her:)

Let's give it a go...

I've been trying to decide whether or not I should start a blog. Do I really have enough interesting information to share?? Will I be able to keep up with it?? The answer to both questions is probably "no", but here we go anyway!

I am so traditional when it comes to pictures and documenting my memories. I want something tangible! Macy already has a FULL photo album of just birth-4 weeks pictures! But, I'm thinking it is time to join the 21st century and use this blog to document those things as well. I can still keep my photo albums:)

Macy will be 5 months old on the 13th. I know EVERYONE says this but, time really does pass by so quickly once they are here. I went to visit a friend with a newborn the other day and I don't even remember Macy being that little! I do miss that "cuddly" time but I am LOVING the phase she is in now. She is the funniest thing. Josh and I (and anyone who really gives her attention) can get her to smile and laugh out loud so easily. Sometimes, if she's in a girlish giggly mood, she laughs at anything! I mean anything! Josh sneezed the other night and she got so tickled she couldn't stop laughing. It is precious. I love these little interactions I get to share with her. And I love the fact that she already knows her mommy and daddy. She has developed such a fun personality and I can't wait to watch it develop more. What a joy she is!!

I got this idea from some of my other blogger friends. It's a neat way to keep up with her developments each month:

Macy, at 4 months old you are:

  • eating 5 times a day
  • being introduced to cereal and you love it!
  • taking your last feeding at 9:00
  • sleeping from 9:30-7:30
  • grabbing and reaching for objects
  • smiling at anyone who gives you attention
  • laughing out loud
  • grabbing your toes a lot
  • rolling from tummy to back and back to tummy
  • recognizing your mommy and daddy
  • watching "Baby Einstein"
  • sitting in your exersaucer and bumbo
  • taking a 2.5 hour morning and afternoon nap
  • chewing on your hands 24/7
