Eden Update

I'm looking across the room at the family pictures we had taken back in April when Kate was 8 weeks old.  It blows my mind how much Eden has changed.  It's not just the dramatic hair growth; she just looks older!

Eden started preschool one day a week this year and I think it has been really good for her.  She continues to be so shy and sometimes drags her feet going into her classroom on Tuesday mornings, but she always has a great time and is happy when I pick her up.  It's also helped her academically and I'm hoping she will have more of a foundation going into Kindergarten next year.  She's also still doing dance on Thursdays and really enjoys it.  She's definitely our dainty little dancer.  She has some sweet friends right now that I'm hoping will be friends for a long time :-)

She's just not as into "stuff" as Macy is and doesn't seem to get attached to things quite as much.  She plays with her dolls and pretends to cook in their kitchen.  But a lot of times Macy ends up with Eden's toys in her room (shocking!) and Eden doesn't really seem to care.  She's pretty content to just do whatever.  She does still love her baby Roo, but she's even been able to go to bed without him lately if he can't be found at bedtime.  She's grown leaps and bounds in coloring and she really enjoys doing that now.  She also still enjoys dressing up and accessorizing.  And lip gloss and carrying a purse, of course.  She's also a fan of music and putting on concerts with Macy.

She really wants to learn to skate like Macy and actually does a pretty good job with some help.  Her personality is just so different; she's much more cautious than Macy and not near as motivated to learn new things.  But she does get so proud when she accomplishes something new and you praise her for it.  Just do not laugh or she immediately shuts down and thinks you are laughing at her!  She has such a sensitive spirit.

One of my favorite things about Eden is her compassion for others.  She not only has a sensitive spirit, she has a sensitive and compassionate heart for other people, especially those who are hurting.  I pray that compassion and kindness in her continues to grow!  She's also our little prayer warrior.  She loves to pray (not usually in a big group) but always volunteers when it's just our family.  One day we were playing outside together and she ran over to me and said, "Mommy, I'm going to pray…God, thank you. Amen"  And then she ran off.  It was the sweetest thing.  We are also praying for Eden to make her heart His home and for wisdom as we teach her His truth.  She is watching and learning so much right now.

She has some words that she says incorrectly, but I love it…
She says "sowry" instead of "sour".  "Poothpaste" instead of "toothpaste".  "Fork" when she means to say "fort".  "Sprout" instead of "Sprite".

Eden is still our affectionate one and loves to cuddle.  She has gotten so tall, but I still love toting her around.  And I love that she lets me.  She's also so sweet with Kate.  KK is definitely her real life baby doll and she loves holding her and playing with her.

EJ brings so much joy to our family.  We love her so much.
