Weekend Fun!

So, I'm still about a week behind on my posts, but I really wanted to post some pictures from our trip last weekend! We went with Josh's family to Dallas the weekend after Thanksgiving. We got some great Christmas shopping in and enjoyed our stay at the fabulous Gaylord hotel. It truly is amazing to walk through their elaborate decorations and is such a treat for all of us. I especially enjoyed watching Macy take it all in!

Sunday morning, we ended the trip by attending the ICE exhibit. It is amazing! It's also 9 degrees inside so we had to bundle up!

Oh Boy!...(Or Girl!)

We are excited to announce that Macy will be a big sister soon! I am about 11 weeks along and due around June 28. We were blessed to hear that precious heartbeat today and got a great report.

We are incredibly grateful for this gift and would appreciate your prayers! God is so good to us.

Let's Pray

Whenever we pray with Macy, before meals or at bedtime, we always say "Let's pray, Macy" and we bow our heads (although we typically keep our eyes open to see what she does!) Well the other night, Macy showed us exactly what we look like when we tell her it's time to pray...

We absolutely lost it! We felt bad for laughing, but we really couldn't help it. It was the funniest thing. Isn't that exactly what we must look like when we tell her to pray!?! We bow our heads, get serious and then we cut our eyes up at her to see what she's doing. She mimicked us perfectly!

We are laughing a lot these days! Macy is such sweet entertainment :-)

Life of the Party!

I am so behind on blog posts! I can't believe Macy's party was over 2 weeks ago and I'm just now posting pictures! I've got to get caught up!

We had her party on her actual birthday, Saturday the 13th. It was at our house and started at 5:00. We had sandwiches, presents and then cake!

Here's the birthday girl! My mother-in-law monogrammed her shirt, sister-in-law made her cupcake bow and I found her pettiskirt on BabySteals.com about 4 months ago!

The set-up

Macy's cake. I found her partyware online; it was baby girl animals and since Macy loves animals I thought it was appropriate:-)

Ready to open her presents!

Cake time! We definitely have a sweet tooth!

The damage! Macy's cake was Piglet since she absolutely loves him.

A few things I didn't get pictures of were her sign in table where her guests left her birthday messages on scrapbook pages that I put in her scrapbook after the party. And, we had home movies playing starting from the day she was born.

We had a great time and loved getting to celebrate Macy's first year. I can't say enough about the blessing she is to us!

One Year Stats

Last Saturday, Macy girl turned 1! She actually gave Mommy and Daddy a present that morning and slept until 9:15!! When she did wake up, we went into her room singing Happy Birthday and sang it to her all throughout the day (we sang it so much that she even started "singing" it! It sounded like the actual thing at times!)

I'll have to get all my pictures together and do another post from her party.

Here's your one year stats, MC:

  • 15 lbs 14 oz (1st %)
  • 27.5 inches (moved up to the 9th %)
  • sleeping 8:30 - 8
  • still hanging on to that morning nap
  • walking everywhere!
  • love putting on Mommy's lip gloss
  • eating EVERYTHING!
  • still enjoying your baby dolls, balls and Piglet
  • starting to show some separation anxiety at times
  • in size 2 shoe
  • size 6-9 month clothes
  • love to be cheered for (Mommy and Daddy cheer for Macy when she puts her cup on the table rather than throw it on the floor! She eats this up...)
  • new words: trying to say Piglet, Thank you and puppy.
Happy Birthday, sweet Macy Caroline! You are a joy and we have had so much fun this first year. Can't wait to see what all the Lord has in store for you and your big personality;-)

We love you!

Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!

Meet Laverne and Shirley!

My sister-in-law and I were having a hard time coming up with costume ideas for the girls and she came up with the great idea to use Laverne and Shirley! It was perfect (mainly because their costumes were super easy!) My mother-in-law showed us how to make their skirts and we pinned letters on their sweaters. They were too cute!

Here's Macy at the church's Fall Fest. I think she was a little overwhelmed!

One quick family picture

Macy and cousin Mallory, the prettiest angel I've ever seen!

Daddy and Macy

We ended up taking the kids trick or treating through a neighborhood and they had a great time! Macy "walked" up to a few of the doors and got Mommy some chocolate;-)

Saturday night, Macy and I went to a Fall Fest at my parents' church (Daddy was at the Ranger's game ;-)

One last thing, we didn't stay at the church very long (it was a little chaotic) but I did get a quick video of Macy "playing" at one of the booths...
