ONE!!

Sweet Eden, Mommy has not forgotten about you!  It just so happens that 3 days after your first birthday party we sold our house and have been surviving in the whirlwind of packing and moving! Blogging has just not been on the priority list, but I can't wait to post all the pictures of your big day:-)

Birthday breakfast!  And also last bottle...we ran out of formula this morning and transitioned to whole milk...

Birthday girl!

Onesie Nana made and bow Aunt Mandy made for Macy on her 1st

Birth-time picture;-)

Eden girl, what a super fast year!! You continue to steal Mommy's heart every day and I'm enamored with you!  I love that you continue to be my cuddle baby (and it doesn't hurt my feelings that you're a little clingy to Mommy!) You are genuinely happy but the last week or so has been a little rough due to teething.  Your top side teeth came in before the two middle ones and now they are trying to break through.  Tough stuff I know and I don't blame you for being a tad irritable;-)  I just wrote in your scrapbook the week before your birthday that you had not experienced any separation anxiety yet and then the following Sunday you cried when we dropped you off.  You've continued to fuss every Sunday since then!  So, I guess we're going through that phase...

A few pics of the birthday girl and your balloon...

You continue to love your Roo and you're a great little sleeper.  We still don't get much of a morning nap if we're out and about but you nap from around 1:30-4:30/5 every day.  You go to sleep around 8:00-8:15 and sleep until 7:30-8.  You wake up so happy!

You had your one year well check this last Monday.  You were 17 lbs 1 oz (2nd%) and 29 in (42nd%).   You have been my baby that doesn't handle shots well!  You're pretty fussy for the next day or so and even run a little fever.

You're still in size 3 diapers, 12 month or 6-12 month clothes and size 2 shoes although we hardly ever get out of the house with shoes on!  That's definitely a 2nd child thing because Macy had a closet-full to choose from and those are all available to you.  Who has time to grab those though when we are running out the door;-)

I think I've blogged before about your high-pitched shriek that you apparently inherited from your sister... Well, you're doing that again, especially at meal time, and it's making eating in public challenging!  We have tried over and over to teach you to sign "more" but apparently you're "above" signing;-)  Instead, you shriek then open your mouth like this...

If we can get the finger foods laid out for you in time then you feed yourself.  We just can't let you run out of food!  You little high maintenance thing;-)

You've been to several Rangers games now and you're still Daddy's number one fan...

Just a few sleeping pictures...

You still sleep with your paci and you've been using it more during the day also, probably due to teething...

Even though you shriek, you really are a great eater and have not turned away anything yet!

You also bypassed sippy cups and went straight to straws.  You love drinking out of a straw!  Aunt Mandy gave you some big girl cups for your birthday and you look so cute holding them up...

You're still not walking and really haven't even stood balanced by yourself yet.  You just don't seem to have much motivation for it (could be because you prefer being carried??? ;)
Sweet dress from Aunt Kristin!

You say Mama and Dada really well and the occasional puppy and uh-oh, but you don't say much else.  You are constantly saying "Deh" or "Der" and it's when you are trying to hand me something like your cup or paci.  I think you're trying to say "here" or "there".

You still love music and will "sing" so sweetly!  You copy sister and sing the ending of veggie tales and it's priceless!  You say "AAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLEEEEEESSSSS.......bop.  The bop is the tuba at the end and you've heard sister do this many times.  You are a big copycat right now.

One of our favorite "tricks" is nodding yes.  We will ask you "Do you love Mommy/Daddy" and you nod yes.  Or we will ask if you're sleepy/hungry/dirty....and you will tell us yes.  But you only do it when you really are trying to say yes!  Brilliant, I know;-)

I think something else that has come from being the 2nd child is being EXTREMELY possessive of what you are holding.  (Could be because you've had so many things yanked out of your hands in your short little life?!) Your cup is the biggest thing you will lose it over.  By all means, do not take this child's cup away!  You are still so sensitive and will just lose it...you also lose it if Mommy and Daddy tell you "no" or spank your hand.

You mimic so much right now and you've learned to put my phone up to your ear and "talk".

I can't wait to see you running around with sister:-)  You two are going to have so much fun together.

Love you baby girl!
