"Co-yours"

Recently, Macy has really discovered her love for coloring (or "Co-yours" as she calls them). Anytime she sees a crayon, pen, marker, pencil, or highlighter, she says "Co-your, please, co-your." And for the most part, it holds her attention pretty well!

Saturday morning we were at the store and I came across some sidewalk chalk. I had been wanting to get her some since she was showing such an interest in coloring. We tried them out that afternoon!

Daddy is the true artist in our family and he drew some of Macy's favorite things...
Olivia

Cars

Ducks

And one of his favorite things :-)

She had so much fun, we decided to head back out Sunday after her nap. I really think she would stay out there for hours! Her favorite thing is putting the chalk in and out of the bucket.

We are really enjoying this beautiful spring weather!!

Macy's first...

PONYTAIL :-)

Yesterday we decided to try a little ponytail for the first time. I couldn't believe how grown-up it made her look:-) Her hair has grown so much since her 1st birthday and I'm sure it won't be long before we can do pigtails!!

I couldn't resist...

So, these onesies were purchased just hours after finding out we were having another girl:-) Truth be told, I already had them picked out! Just needed the confirmation that baby #2 was in fact a girl.

Last weekend I went through Macy's 1st box of clothes and started washing onesies and pajamas. Eden will have quite a few footsie PJ's and long-sleeved onesies, but all of Macy's Newborn or 0-3 month outfits are winter. We are headed to Austin this week for the State Tournament, so I'm hoping to hit the outlets hard for some things for Eden:-)

Birthday Boy and a Name for our Little Girl

Yesterday was an exciting day for us! We got to "see" our newest addition...

Eden Joy Gentry

She wasn't in the greatest position for pictures, but that's ok! Everything looked great which is always a blessing to hear.

Another girl and a sister for Macy! We are ecstatic:-)
When I was just certain Macy was going to be a boy, Josh would say "I don't know...I think I'm destined to have girls!" He's a wonderful "girl Daddy" and my daughters are so blessed to have him.

Speaking of, yesterday was also Josh's 32nd birthday! The neat thing is we had Macy's 22 week sonogram on my birthday in July and Eden's on Josh's birthday yesterday. Makes them extra special!

Making sure everything's accounted for...

Macy's gift to Daddy was more like the gift of time....
"time" as in golf lessons!

Psalm 26:3 is the verse we've prayed over Macy since before she was born; desiring for her to know the Lord and walk in His Truth. Before we even knew this baby was a girl, we've been drawn to 1 Peter 3:3-4...

"Your adornment must not be merely external...but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God."

We can't wait to meet you, Eden Joy!

15 Months

Macy turned 15 months on Sunday. I feel like she has changed so much since her 1st birthday. We have definitely entered the full-blown discipline phase, which is super fun:-/ There are some days when Josh comes home and I just couldn't brag on her enough..."She listened so well today!" "I really think she's got it figured out!" And then the next day she gives me a subtle dose of reality: Discipline is never ending! She really is a sweet girl and I'm so proud of her, but I've learned to stay humble, because she will put me in my place with one sharp, defiant moment.

With that said, I really am loving this age! Her little personality is exploding and I love how she learns new words every day.

Macy, at 15 months you are:

  • 17 lbs 13 oz (1st%)
  • 29.5 in (22nd% - Big jump!)
  • size 3 diapers
  • size 2 shoes (some 3)
  • size 12 months or 6-12 months
  • sleeping 8:30 - 8:30
  • transitioning out of morning nap (sometimes you take one, sometimes you don't)
  • 2-3 hour afternoon nap
  • watching "Olivia" and "Curious George"
  • just getting into "Veggie Tales"
  • enjoying books and anything you can ride on or push
  • loving on your puppies and very sweet with them
  • a huge breakfast eater! You love muffins, waffles, pancakes, bananas, and oatmeal
  • favorite foods: pizza, cheese spaghetti, Chick-fil-A, fruit
  • running everywhere!
  • singing and dancing (mainly to the "Olivia" theme song)
  • talking all the time!
Words you can say pretty well:
  • please
  • puppies
  • baby
  • trash
  • pancakes
  • excuse me
  • starting to say "Olivia" :-)
  • cheese
  • yes sir
  • church
  • Jesus
  • thank you
  • Amen (the last three combined are how she prays :-)
  • cup
  • hot
Names you can say somewhat clearly:
  • Daddy
  • Papa
  • Pops
  • Jack
  • Cason
  • Bryce
She is really attempting to repeat things that we say and understanding more and more. What a little sponge right now!!!
